MANY
COLLEGES REQUIRE COMPLETION OF AN INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATION COURSE THAT
COMMONLY FOCUSES ON TOPICS SUCH AS THE HISTORY OF EDUCATION AND EDUCATIONAL
ISSUES AND/OR NATURE OF THE TEACHING PROFESSION IN THE LOCAL REGION OR
NATION. THIS COURSE INTRODUCES PROSPECTIVE EDUCATORS TO THE GLOBAL NATURE OF
EDUCATION THROUGH STUDY OF LOCAL ISSUES IN A GLOBAL CONTEXT AS A FOUNDATION
TO THEIR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PREPARATION TO BRING A GLOBAL
PERSPECTIVE TO PROFESSIONAL DECISION MAKING. IT WILL BE OFFERED THROUGH THE
GENEDWEB FRAMEWORK IN ORDER TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO A WIDE AUDIENCE OF
PROSPECTIVE EDUCATORS. THE PROPOSED INTERNATIONAL PRACTICUM COURSES IN
ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION SUPPORT AND COMPLIMENT THIS COURSE, BUT
THESE COURSES CAN BE TAKEN INDEPENDENTLY OF EACH OTHER. |
