Rationale for
Changes or
Exceptions
:

THIS IS A REQUIRED COURSE IN THE PROPOSED ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES MAJOR.  IT WILL GIVE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY WHAT THEY HAVE LEARNED IN THE CLASSROOM TO A PROBLEM IN A WORK, RESEARCH OR FIELD SETTING. FURTHERMORE, IT WILL PROVIDE EXPERIENCE THAT THEY WILL BRING BACK TO THE CLASSROOM FOR USE IN SUBSEQUENT COURSE WORK, ESPECIALLY IN THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES SENIOR CAPSTONE EXPERIENCE.

AS IS THE CASE WITH OTHER UMM INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, THIS COURSE WILL NOT CARRY A GENED DESIGNATOR.
