Students will present one seminar on their internship/field experience and participate in discussion of the experiences of their peers. Students will also consider a case study, giving them the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary work using the expertise gained from their own focus within the environmental studies major. (two 65-min discussions)

THIS IS A REQUIRED COURSE FOR THE PROPOSED ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES MAJOR, SERVING AS THE CAPSTONE EXPERIENCE. IT REINFORCES THE INTERDISCIPLINARY NATURE OF THE MAJOR BY BRINGING STUDENTS TOGETHER TO SHARE AND DISCUSS THEIR INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCES AND BY ENGAGING STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT DISCIPLINARY EXPERIENCE AND POINTS OF VIEW IN GROUP WORK ON AN INTERDISCIPLINARY CASE STUDY. FINALLY, IT WILL PROVIDE FORMAL AND INFORMAL SPEAKING EXPERIENCE IN A SMALL GROUP SETTING.

AS IS THE CASE WITH MANY CAPSTONE EXPERIENCES, THIS COURSE WILL NOT CARRY A GENED DESIGNATOR. IF THIS IS OF CONCERN, WE WOULD PROPOSE THAT IT CARRY THE ENVT DESIGNATION.
