Rationale for |
THIS COURSE WILL SERVE UMM STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN THE COMPUTATIONAL ASPECTS OF STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS. BASED ON THE DISCIPLINE'S PAST EXPERIENCE, STUDENTS WITH AN EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF STATISTICAL SOFTWARE PACKAGES HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF ENTERING GRADUATE PROGRAMS, AND SECURING POSITIONS AT RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS ESPECIALLY IN MEDICINE. THE COURSE ALSO WILL ATTRACT RESEARCHERS FROM APPLIED FIELDS WHO ARE INVOLVED WITH LARGE DATA SETS REQUIRING SOPHISTICATED STATISTICAL METHODS AND TECHNIQUES. |
