Rationale for
Changes or
Exceptions
:

PURVEYORS OF MODERN VISUAL MEDIA OFTEN MISUNDERSTAND OR MISREPRESENT THE MIDDLE AGES AND RENAISSANCE. THIS COURSE INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF THESE ERAS, ESPECIALLY IN FRANCE. IT ALSO TEACHES THEM TO ASSESS AND CRITIQUE OUR CONTEMPORARY UNDERSTANDING AND DEPICTION IN FILM OF THESE PERIODS.
THIS COURSE WILL HAVE MORE AND LENGTHIER READINGS AND ASSIGNMENTS THAN THOSE IN FREN 1027.
