Narrative Summary

If individual course changes are part of an overall plan for change within the discipline's curriculum, please summarize the intent of the changes in the space below. Use additional sheets as needed.

Nearly all the changes are because of 1)The return to quarter system practice of having a Principles of Microeconomics and a Principles of Macroeconomics, rather than a conbined course and 2) A change in the Calculus requirement for the major

from Math 1021 (Survey of Calc.) to Math 1101 (Calc I). The later change is to ensure students have the option of continuing the Calc sequence should they desire graduate study in economics.

Financial Implications

Are there any financial or staffing implications of this proposal? If so, explain.

Little--a slight reallocation of resources from upper to lower division will be necessary.
