Course Revision #1

I. Give complete UMM catalog entry (deletions in strikethru font, additions underlined)(see instructions)

IS 1051. Introduction to College Learning Skills. (4 cr; counts toward the 60-cr general education requirements; prereq participation in Gateway Program or #; offered summer only; S-N only)

Essential skills for success in higher education. Introduction to computing technology, writing, and Computing tools, reading and writing to learn and communicate, basic math skills. Thought processes and standards of academic dialogue.

II. Rationale (see instructions):

The new wording is a more accurate description of what the course is designed to do. We removed the # sign because students don't need an instructor's approval. Students can't take the course without being a part of the Gateway Program.
