Narrative Summary

If individual course changes are part of an overall plan for change within the discipline's curriculum, please summarize the intent of the changes in the space below. Use additional sheets as needed.

Moving survey courses to the 2000 level and changing the prerequisites are intended to give students a broad foundation in literary approaches and literary history at the lower-division as better preparation for advanced courses. Changes to the upper-division requirements reflect this new organizational principle.
