Narrative Summary

If individual course changes are part of an overall plan for change within the discipline's curriculum, please summarize the intent of the changes in the space below. Use additional sheets as needed.

The addition of a new position makes possible some additional offerings in a new area (organizational psychology) as well as an additional introductory section. The new organizational offerings are undertaken in cooperation with the Management Discipline, in which three of these courses are double-listed. We also propose to revert to a more traditional introductory pattern that separates introductory instruction from instruction in research methods. Although this change will, after Fall 2003, reduce the number of lower-division courses by one, class sizes at the introductory level will shrink because the new position makes possible an additional section.
