STAT 3501: Survey Sampling (M/SR; 4 cr)

MOTION (Ericksen/Thoma) to approve the proposed German Studies Major and Minor.

Discussion: Ericksen stated that the minor is identical to the old German minor, with the exception of the removal of three old courses that are no longer active elective choices.  This does not reduce the number of electives in the German Studies minor.  There are actually more elective options under the German Studies major and minor.  The German Studies minor is identical in shape to the Spanish minor in terms of the number of credits and the basic outline.

Dingley stated that new programs cannot be advertised until the Board of Regents approves them.

Contant reminded the committee that the addition of the German Studies major and minor will by followed next week with proposals to discontinue the German major and minor, as well as the European Studies major.

VOTE: Motion passed (8-0-0)
