MCSA resolution about LEED certification
Adam Yust reported that this resolution comes to CRPC for approval and endorsement. 203 students signed in support of this resolution. Jonathan added that he has never seen this kind of student support for anything. Lowell noted that the sustainable design system has also expressed an interest. He also mentioned that we are going into uncharted territory and we will need to do planning upfront. Adam said that Harvard has been very pro-active on LEED certification and that there are success stories out there however it all starts with the pre-design. Arne asked if CRPC could table the endorsement until CRPC hears from the TC design teamscheduled to visit UMM this week. Sandy suggested looking at the owerpoint presentation from the U.S. Green Building Council website. There is some data available that we have not seen before.
Update from Chancellor Johnson
Jacquie distributed a draft version of a document summarizing some of the outcomes from the joint meeting with UMM, WCROC and the Soils Lab. She i interested in CRPC’s feedback and added that she plans to include this in our Compact. At the Campus Assembly meeting this week, Jacquie will give an update on budgets and program review and will talk about the work that she and Judy Kuechle have done with the Division Chairs about staffing for next year. She plans to meet with the Consultative Committee about a potential list of names for the Public Honors College subcommittee.
Beautiful U Day Proposals
Lowell distributed five applications for grants for Beautiful U Day. CRPC approved the concepts of the applications with the understanding that Lowell will get required approvals from areas involved.
