LaFave House Mission Statement
Our mission is to offer an exceptional event experience in a welcoming, warm, and elegant environment with attention to providing a high quality of service and a focus on our guests.
Meetings and Events at LaFave House
Lafave House serves as a special gathering place for University and community functions. The home like atmosphere extends a warm welcome to friends of the University— students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, community leaders as well as dignitaries from around the world. Lafave House is located at 305 College Avenue and overlooks the grounds of the University of Minnesota, Morris.
Each year Lafave House receives about 2,500 visitors. The special events coordinator oversees the management of Lafave House with responsibility for scheduling, enforcing policies, and coordinating Lafave House special events and activities held in support of the house and its mission.
The dining room comfortably seats eight guests for formal luncheons or dinners, or can be set up to serve meals buffet style.
The living room features a Yamaha grand piano that you are welcome to use, and it has served as the accompanying piece for various recitals and performances.
The Fireside Room overlooks the manicured back yard and can be set up for informal luncheons or dinners, retreats, and presentations. A screen and projector are available for your convenience, as well as a television with DVD playing capacities and a conference phone.
As weather permits you are free to use the backyard, the front terrace, and the sun porch.
All areas of the house and grounds are available for day and/or evening events, and are available between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
LaFave House food and beverages
Food served at Lafave House may be catered by the campus food services vendor, Sodexo, or any other licensed caterer, or prepared off site, preferably by a licensed caterer. Food and beverage arrangements must be cleared with the house manager one week prior to your event.

A budget number to which charges will be assessed will be required at the time you make your reservation, or if paying by personal check the amount is due on the day of your event.
