Dial up Instructions for Windows Me

1. Click Start, then select Settings then click Dial-up Networking.
2. Select Make New Connection. This brings up the Dial-up Networking Wizard which walks you through setting up a new connection.
1. Click the Next button to continue with the wizard.
2. Type in UMM 2 Hour PPP Line. If your modem is properly set up it will appear in "Select a Device".
3. Click the Next button to continue.
4. Enter 589-4526 for the phone number, you can ignore the area code.
5. Click the Next button to continue.
6. Now click Finish to create the icon and finish the setup.
3. To set up the Dial-Up Properties:
1. Single-click the newly created connection icon, then right-click on the icon to bring up a pop-up menu and click Properties
2. Click the Networking tab. Make sure that the "Type of Dial-Up Server" is PPP; Internet; ...
3. Now Click on the TCP/IP Settings button on the bottom right of the window.
• Click the option Specify name server addresses and type in the following information in the appropriate fields:

Primary DNS	146.57.57.57
Secondary DNS	128.101.101.101

4. Click Ok
5. Click the Security tab, and make sure that the "Log onto Server" option is NOT selected
6. To Create a shortcut for the 2 hourline, click the icon in the Dial Up Networking window, and then right click and select make shortcut. A window will pop up saying "Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?" Click Yes and an icon will appear on your desktop.
7. To connect double click on the icon on your desktop, then enter your username and password and click Connect.
