Dial up Instructions for Windows Me
- Click Start, then select Settings then click Dial-up Networking.
- Select Make New Connection.
This brings up the Dial-up Networking Wizard which walks you through setting up a new connection.
- Click the Next button to continue with the wizard.
- Type in UMM 2 Hour PPP Line. If your modem is properly set up it will appear in "Select a Device".
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Enter 589-4526 for the phone number, you can ignore the area code.
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Now click Finish to create the icon and finish the setup.
- To set up the Dial-Up Properties:
- Single-click the newly created connection icon, then right-click on the icon to bring up
a pop-up menu and click Properties
- Click the Networking tab. Make sure that the "Type of Dial-Up Server" is
PPP; Internet; ...
- Now Click on the TCP/IP Settings button on the bottom right of the window.
- Click the option Specify name server addresses and type in the following
information in the appropriate fields:

- Click Ok
- Click the Security tab, and make sure that the "Log onto Server" option is NOT selected
- To Create a shortcut for the 2 hourline, click the icon in the Dial Up
Networking window, and then right click and select make shortcut. A window will pop up saying "Windows
cannot create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?" Click Yes
and an icon will appear on your desktop.
- To connect double click on the icon on your desktop,
then enter your username and password and click Connect.
