- Make sure the G4 is on; the scanner will turn on
automatically when you start scanning so you will not need to turn on the scanner.
- Double-click the Omnipage 8.0 icon in the aliases folder. A window toolbar may
display. If it does not, select the Windows dropdown menu and select show toolbar.
- On the taskbar, you can select the "scan image" icon (which could be displayed as "load image"
with a down arrow to select the "scan image". You can also select the Process dropdown menu
and select "scan image" or use the "OCR & Check" or use the OpenApple and "L" keys.
- After scanning is done, select the OCR & Proof icon or the Process dropdown menu and select
"OCR & Check" or use the OpenApple and "R" keys.
- Select the File drop down menu and the "save as" option. A message will probably display that
the file will need to be saved to a floppy disk. A screen will display, allowing you to name your
document, select the location (ie floppy disk) and select the format of the document from
"Omnipage document" to the application format of your choice. (ie word, excel, etc.)
- The converted version of the document will display using the software application specified in the
"save as" option.
- You can now edit the document and make changes in the document file.
