Introduction

Symantec Client Security is the latest release of Symantec's AntiVirus product that includes a Personal Firewall with Intrusion Detection. Many at the U of MN are familiar with Symantec AntiVirus because of previous license agreements. SCS adds the firewall capabilities to help protect computer systems from network intruder attacks. You can install just the antivirus software or the full firewall plus antivirus software combination. Wherever possible we recommend installing the full product. Note that this product is not available for Windows 95 nor is it available for the Macintosh platform, but we continue to offer the antivirus software for these platforms.
