UTools: Software Licensing and Open-Source Options

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) strives to provide the entire University community with the lowest priced software options possible. The first phase of the UTools initiative was to expand OIT’s current software license program and recommend an evolving Delicious-based list of free or low cost open-source and shareware applications and tools, aligning with the U of M mission of research and discovery, teaching and learning, and outreach and public service. The UTools long-term vision is to provide a comprehensive list of software and applications available to assist faculty and staff by leveraging technology to advance and support extraordinary education, breakthrough research, and dynamic public engagement.

UMCal is a University wide personal calendar management & scheduling system. UMCal can be used across various platforms with a downloadable client such as:
