Sonya is a Waste Reduction and Recycling Corps Member with the Minnesota GreenCorps. Her objectives are to determine the need/desire of recycling programs and to improve recycling in public spaces in Morris and Stevens County, facilitate event recycling at several high visibility events in Stevens County, and to work to improve recycling in apartments in Morris with a particular emphasis on the UMM off-campus student population.

Jennifer is working as the Living Green Outreach specialist for the Minnesota GreenCorps. Her focus is on partnering with the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, working in the community and with local schools to implement environmentally sound practices, and a poster roadshow of ways to implement sustainable practices in daily life.

Deon is working as an Americorps Student in Service for Stevens Forward. Stevens Forward is an initiative to better the future of the Stevens County community. Specifically, her work is being done on Destiny Driver #8, which states that "By 2015 Stevens County will be the first carbon neutral county in the world, demonstrating viable models for green housing, neighborhoods and public buildings". To accomplish this, she is currently writing newspaper articles that will educate Stevens County citizens on issues relating to climate change and carbon neutrality. She is also working on getting data from energy providers in the county to help determine how much carbon dioxide is being produced.
