Tremor Felt
A so-far unexplained rumble -- which shook buildings slightly and had people wondering whether they felt an actual earth tremor -- struck the Alexandria area at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday. It lasted only a few seconds and no damage was reported.
The Alexandria Police Dept. and county sheriff's office said they received phone calls inquiring about the quiver from residents living both in town and out around the Lake Le Homme Dieu area, plus Osakis, Brandon, and Forada. Apparently, the tremor was felt all the way from Fargo, N.D. down as far south as Willmar, Minnesota, according to authorities.
