UMM Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni
Awards.
A special added event this year was the renaming
of the Social Science building, which will
now be known as John Q. Imholte Hall. Friends and well-wishers gathered for the ceremony.
After too long an absence, the UMM Jazz Bands returned to the rebuilt Glenwood Lakeside
Ballroom for the annual Fundraiser Ball hosted by Jim Gremmels (in tuxedo) and Jack Imholte
on behalf of the HFA Phase III project and additional funding for student scholarships.
The parade followed the dedication Saturday morning. All kinds of UMMers enjoy
Homecoming... retirees, alumni, current
students, and... future students?
The volleyball team lost a hard-fought battle to the College of
St. Scholastica during Homecoming only to bounce back for a single match
record for ace serves (23) in their victory over Northland College the
following Tuesday. The soccer team was on the road, battling their way to
an eventual UMAC championship.
Thanks to our clubs, athletes, performers, and guests for their
wonderful contributions to this year's tailgate party and Homecoming
football game.
