Minnesota Post-Secondary Child Care Grant
The Post-Secondary Child Care Grant is a state of Minnesota funded gift program for students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree, a Minnesota resident, have children 12 and under (14 and under if disabled), demonstrate financial need and have not attended a post-secondary institution more than the equivalent of four-years at full-time status. The amount of assistance (may cover up to 40 hours per week per eligible child) will depend on the family size, annual income of the family and the number of day-care hours necessary to cover education or work obligations. Contact the Financial Aid Office for an application.
The Post-Secondary Child Care Grant is based on availability of funds from the state of Minnesota and the student’s enrollment status as of the Essential Deadline of each term.
The Priority deadline to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the University of Minnesota, Morris to the federal processor is March 1 and no later than 30 days after the term begins of each semester in order to be considered for the Post-Secondary Child Care Grant.
Students must be enrolled for 15 credits to receive a full Post-Secondary Child Care Grant. When students are enrolled for less than 15 credits the Post-Secondary Child Care Grant will be adjusted based on the number of credits each term.
