Federal Direct Loan Exit Counseling

Direct Loan Exit Counseling - Online

Direct Loan exit counseling is a federal requirement for all students who have borrowed Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans while enrolled at UMM. Federal regulations require that loan counseling take place each time a student drops below half time enrollment, stops attending school, transfers or graduates.

Students may satisfy the Direct Loan exit counseling requirement on-line by reading information about Direct Loans and passing a brief quiz. It should take approximately 20 minutes to read the information and take the quiz. Students will need their U.S. Department of Education Personal Identification Number (PIN) to complete the session online. When a student has successfully passed the quiz, confirmation will be sent to the Financial Aid Office at UMM - request that option by choosing that the information be sent to the University of Minnesota Morris.
