Founders Free Tuition Program

The University of Minnesota Founders Free Tuition Program supports admitted eligible Minnesota residents and provides them with access to a great University of Minnesota education. This program combines federal, state, and institutional grants to cover 100 per cent of tuition and required student service fees for all new incoming students who are a Federal Pell Grant recipient and are a Minnesota resident. Students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 each year, be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits) in a degree program, be working on your first undergraduate degree, maintain consecutive term enrollment and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

This scholarship is renewable. New transfer students are eligible for up to two consecutive years and new first-time students are eligible for up to four consecutive years.
