Multicultural Excellence Program (MEP)
This is an academic support program for St. Paul, Minnesota school students designed to enable more multi-ethnic students to complete a four-year college degree. Each year, students with potential are selected by the St. Paul Public School District to participate in this program. The University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) strongly supports this program. UMM will cover the cost of tuition, related educational fees and course books once students have been admitted through the UMM Admissions Office as a full-time student. MEP funding may be a combination of Federal Pell Grant, Minnesota State Grant and UMM grants. MEP funding is renewable by maintaining a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 while enrolled for at least 12 credits, until the student receives an undergraduate degree, up to a maximum of five years.
MEP funding is available for summer school. However, you must have completed at least 24 credits the preceding year with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 to be eligible.
The Priority deadline to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the University of Minnesota, Morris to the federal processor is March 1. In addition, any requested documentation from the Financial Aid Office must be submitted by May 1. Students who do not complete a FAFSA or submit requested documentation will not receive the MEP financial assistance for tuition, fees and books.
