Veterans Education Benefits
The University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) is approved by the Minnesota State Approving Agency to participate in all Veterans Education Assistance Programs. These programs include Veterans Administration (VA) benefits for those who have served on active duty and their eligible dependents, as well as members of the Reserve and National Guard.

Veteran Certification for Education Benefits at UMM
All students eligible for VA educational benefits must complete the Veterans Information Form. Submit the form with all other required documentation to the Financial Aid Office. Once received, the veterans certifying officer will contact you to set up an appointment in order to complete all the necessary forms for enrollment. The veterans certifying officer will then certify your enrollment with the USDVA St. Louis Office so that you can begin receiving VA benefits. USDVA decision on your Eligibility of VA Benefits may take up to 12 weeks.

Veterans education benefits must be reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have specific questions about a program that aren't answered on these pages, please contact the USDVA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis toll-free at 1-888-442-4551 or go to their Web site, www.gibill.va.gov.

If you have had a one-year break in attendance at the University of Minnesota, Morris, or if you used your VA benefit at another institution, you must also complete and submit the Request for Change of Program or Place of Training Form (22-1995).

Chapter 30 and 1606:
