The University of Minnesota has implemented the largest scholarship drive in its history—The Promise of Tomorrow. And to encourage new gifts, the University has created the President's Scholarship Match, which doubles the generosity of donors and doubles the impact of their gifts for new endowed scholarships.
Here's how it works:
- Gifts of $25,000 or more that meet qualifications are eligible.
- Gifts are used to create an endowment fund at the University of Minnesota Foundation.
- About 4.5 percent of the fund's market value is paid out each year to fund the scholarship. Each year the University matches this payout to double the impact of the gift.
