Effort Certification

The University of Minnesota requires employees to electronically certify the accuracy of the percentage of time (i.e., effort) that they charge or contribute (cost share) to externally-funded sponsored projects.

  • The effort reporting system assures external sponsors (federal, state, industry and private foundations etc.) that the salaries and wages charged or cost shared to sponsored projects are consistent with the effort contributed.
  • All employees involved in certifying effort should be aware that severe penalties and funding disallowances could result from inaccurate, incomplete, or untimely effort reporting.

Rita Bolluyt is the Effort Coordinator for the University of Minnesota, Morris. You may contact her via email at bolluyt@morris.umn.edu or call her at 320-589-6465.
