Required Training

According to a Board of Regents policy, all principal investigators must complete Parts 1 and 2 of the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) workshops in order to receive funds from any external agencies or internal programs, such as Grant-in-Aid and Summer Research Fellowships. The Part 1 workshop is broadcast to the Morris campus once a semester via ITV. Part 2 consists of four online modules to complete on your own at http://research.umn.edu/reo/education/core.html#.ULY4DGffXTo. Make sure you fill out the “self-report” to get credit for the modules. If human subjects are involved in your research, you must also complete specialized training in this area. Continuing education is also required on an annual basis.

Post Award

As soon as the principal investigator is notified of the funding decision, please contact the Grants Office and forward any documentation. The Grants Office will obtain signatures and negotiate all award contracts on behalf of the Regents of the University of Minnesota.
