Q: Do I need to submit a cover letter or résumé with my application?

A: No, at this time the application process does not require a cover letter or résumé.

Q: Do I need to submit a transcript with my application?

A: No, appropriate staff will be pulling your transcript for the committee to review.

Q: How long should my essay(s) be?

A: It is recommended that the length be approximately 250 words and you answer the questions as thoroughly as possible.

Q: I’m a graduating senior, am I eligible for this research opportunity?

A: No, you must be enrolled the following fall term so that you may participate in symposium activities.

Q: How soon will a decision be made after the application deadline?

A: Notifications will start going out middle to late February. You will be notified if you have been accepted, wait-listed or denied into the summer research program. We will notify all students when all research positions have successfully been filled.

Q: What and when is the commitment date?

A: If you receive a letter of acceptance we ask that you notify us if you plan to accept the summer research position. You will typically have two weeks from notification to let us know of your decision.

Q: What is the wait-list?

A: If you have been wait-listed this means that an offer has been made to another student. You could still receive an invitation if that student declines the initial offer, thus making a research position available. We will notify all students when all research positions have successfully been filled.
