Briggs Library's New Look

Posted by Peter Bremer on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013

Briggs Library may look a little different the next time you step into the library. Over the summer work study students and library staff worked hard to shift things around. The result is a re-imagined main floor with other changes spread throughout the library.

The first thing you may notice walking through the main doors is that the reference desk is now across from the circulation desk. A large new group study space filled with tables is now where the older print periodicals used to be. The older print journals are now located on the fourth floor in the quiet area.

Other changes include the current print periodicals and newspaper reading area being moved by the interlibrary loan office, videos are now near the Camtasia Room and the Bestsellers Collection is near the library entrance.

The General Collection was also shifted. The third floor now holds call numbers P-V, and fourth floor holds titles beginning with the call number Z.

We hope you enjoy the new look. Come explore the library and tell us what you think.
