Briggs Library has Libx installed on all of its public computers. Now it's even better since you can install LibX right in your own browser.
What is it? Basically, it's a search bar that resides in your browser and allows you to search the Briggs Library catalog.
How does it work? From the LibX SUMMON drop-down menu in your browser choose to search by keyword, title, author, subject, ISBN, even call number. A new window will pop up in SUMMON displaying your results. It's that easy.
To download LibX for the Briggs Library SUMMON catalog simply go to
Firefox LibX or Internet Explorer LibX.
You will be prompted to "Save File". Double-click on the downloaded file and choose "Run". Go through the LibX Setup Wizard to install LibX in your browser.
Besides searching SUMMON in a flash LibX can also come in handy when you're in Amazon.com (or other online bookseller). Click on a book in the display. Notice the very small picture of Briggs Library next to the title? Simply click on it to do an ISBN search in SUMMON.
