Ask a Librarian

The reference desk is located on the main floor of Briggs Library and is staffed by a rotating group of five librarians. We are ready to assist in person, by phone, email, IM or chat during the academic year. Research assistance is available

  • Monday–Thursday: 11 a.m.–10 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Sunday: 4 p.m.–10 p.m.

during regular library hours. For detailed contact information, please visit Ask a Librarian.

Note: During academic breaks and in the summer Briggs Library offers on-call reference assistance. Patrons are encouraged to ask for a librarian at the circulation desk (589-6175) or to send a question via the web form.

Priority is given to students, faculty, staff, and west central Minnesota residents.

The reference coordinator provides special research outreach through Librarian on the Loose in the Student Center, Multi-Ethnic Student Lounge, and Dining Hall.

You may also set up a special research consultation appointment with a librarian or contact a librarian discipline liaison.
