Pay rate: $ 7.10 per hour
Supervisor: Shannon Shi

General Summary:

Special Collections Student Assistant duties include processing and shelving of special collections/archives materials.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Assist in collecting appropriate materials from campus departments according to collection development policies.
2) Sort, organize and record items in archival boxes, collect missing items from corresponding campus units to maike the collection complete.
3) Write drafts of finding aids by following guidelines.
4) Assist in the processing of special collection items.
5) Shelve, label, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum/Essential Qualifications needed to perform the job:

Attention to details, sorting, filing and organizing skills; ability to follow procedures and policies, and work without close supervision; ability to lift heavy boxes; maintain a regular work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

Writing skills; interest in or knowledge of campus history.
