Curriculum Library
The purpose of the Curriculum Library is to serve the needs of the students
and faculty of the Education discipline and to provide resources for
current and prospective teachers. In addition to supporting UMM's Teacher Education program, community educators and children are also
invited to use Curriculum Library materials.
Located on the third floor of Briggs Library, the Curriculum Library consists of several distinct collections.
- The Children's Literature Collection (Juvenile Collection) is made up of Easy/Picture Books, reference, fiction and non-fiction sections
written for children and young adults.
The Children's Literature collection is cataloged and arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification. The loan period for
Children's collection items is 14 days.
- The Teacher Education Collection consists of the following sections:
Elementary Textbooks, Secondary Textbooks, Teaching Aids and Kits.
The materials in these sections are arranged by curricular area and further subdivided by publisher or producer. Due to the high
demand at various times of each term, the loan period for Teacher Education items is
3 days. Print journals of particular interest to K-12 teachers are also shelved in the Teacher Education area.
