Morris Area Child Care Center
OUTDOOR PLAY
Outdoor play is an important part of your childs day and total health. Weather permitting, the children will play outdoors each day. All children who are well enough to be at the Center will be expected in this activity. You can help your child to enjoy this time outdoors by being sure that she or he is dressed for the existing weather conditions. In winter this includes boots, warm coat, sweater, snowpants, mittens, and hats.
PARENT/STAFF COMMUNICATION
To ensure that parents are involved with their childs progress at the center, conferences are offered two times a year. If at any other time you wish to have a conference with your childs teacher, please feel free to schedule a time with that teacher. Notes to parents are placed in family cubbies to keep you up to date on your childs intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Again, you are encouraged to seek out your childs teacher to discuss your childs progress.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
When arriving at the center, be sure to sign your child in and accompany them into the room. Please help them put their things in their cubby and join in an activity where a staff person can see the child. As always, the center staffs responsibility lies with the children first. If you need assistance with your child, please ask and a staff member will be happy to help out.
If you should arrive during rest time at the preschool site, please take your child to the resting room. Children in our care must be supervised by MACCC staff at all times. Children are required to rest during this time, so please enter quietly. Arriving children will not be allowed to play in the adjoining room without staff supervision.
When picking up your child at the end of their day, please sign your child out. Then come into the room to pick your child up from the staff person in charge. If children are out on the playground, parents are expected to go out on the playground to pick up their child.
WINTER STORM CLOSING POLICY
Morris Area Child Care Center will remain open if possible in the event of a snowstorm. The center has the authority not to open if the weather threatens the safety of children and staff. Listen to KKOK (95.7 FM) and KMRS (1230 AM) for weather related announcements.
The school age program will provide child care for children during weather related non school days when possible. We will be available for children who need us for late starts and early closings. Please schedule these arrangements with the school age staff ahead of time to avoid the additional service charge fees.
PARENT CUBBIES
Families have labeled cubbies in the lobby area as you enter the building at the preschool site. Please check these daily for important information being passed on.
