Student Senate:
In the Student Senate meetings, a community wide security initiative was introduced. The University of Minnesota security director introduced a all campus wide security cooperation plan to advance and increase security on all campuses of the University of Minnesota. The most important security advance discussed was the plan to institute an alert system in all five campuses, geared to alerting the University of Minnesota communities as the dangers come into light; snow storms on the Duluth campus, or shootings at any of the coordinate campuses. A resolution was also passed by student senators in show of support for the plan to construct a railway connecting the St. Paul campus to the Minneapolis campus.

In the most recent November Student Senate meeting, the UMM resolution on cheap labor in U of M apparel production was presented. Becky Hippert, chair of the All-University Senate informs UMM that the resolution has been presented to president Bruinicks. He is expected to post a reply soon.
