Executive Officers for 2007-2008

Eagan Heath
President

Eagan is a history and political science major. This is his last year at UMM, and he hopes to make it a productive one. He has worked as a discipline representative, an RA, a TA, News Editor and Editor-in-Chief of The University Register. He has many hopes for MCSA and UMM this year, but none so high as getting a disc golf course over at Pomme de Terre park. In terms of more conventional college issues, he would like to see MCSA work on First-Year Seminar, the Honors program, Senior Seminars, Food Service, book prices, rental and landlord issues, recruiting and admissions, and many other things. Part of the process of identifying student issues entails communication with different parts of campus. This year’s MCSA execs are committed to communicating with more segments of campus generally, as well as taking concrete steps to assure that MCSA knows what issues students are facing. One way of doing this is to bring back the Advisory Council (described in the MCSA Constitution) which consists of Hall Governments and student group leaders. A corollary ought to exist for the academic side, as discipline reps almost never get together to discuss systemic problems and issues.

Overall, Eagan believes that things should be fun, and that students should take an active role in shaping UMM to be the way that they want it.

LeAnn Hedquist
Vice President for Academic Affairs

LeAnn Hedquist is a senior at UMM. She is a Political Science major and History minor. She is planning on attending law school next fall. Last year she was on Campus Assembly as a representative, while also serving as a consultative committee member, a forum representative, a Campus Assembly Student Services and MCSA student affairs committee member. She has also worked in the Admissions Office as an office assistant and volunteered as a Campus Ambassador. During her time as Vice President of Academic Affairs for MCSA she hopes to change UMM for the better not just for the students but the campus and community as a whole. She hopes to organize and update the senior capstone programs in place across the divisions as well as assist in the assessment of the First Year Experience. She also plans to seek MCSA involvement in retention and recruiting of current and new students. Outside UMM she is interested in Morris life, bad romantic comedies, and horrible pop music. Reading is one of her summer time passions that she wished she could fit into her busy wintertime schedule. She hopes to meet you this year and she also asks that you email any concerns or comments to her or MCSA at any time.

Adam Olson
Vice President for Student Services

Adam Olson is a Political Science major. When he ran for election to MCSA, he campaigned on creating a better attitude regarding the group, continuing the green energy momentum and restarting the advisory council. When he is not working on that stuff, he acts as a student liaison to various school institutions and generally deals with student issues. When not doing MCSA stuff, he does all sorts of random things like walk to the wind turbine at 3:00 in the morning or go to Alexandria at 4:00 in the morning.
