UMM News Service -- Visit the University of Minnesota, Morris on Thursday, Nov. 14, for the annual Instructional Technology Fair 2002 to be held in the UMM Student Center. Everyone is invited to attend.

The day begins at 9 a.m. with keynote speaker, Linda Jorn, from the Digital Media Center of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Presentations and exhibits will be featured from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

Following Jorn's presentation, attendees are invited to visit with national and local software, hardware, and support vendors such as Lightspan, Inspiration, Apple, LeapFrog, Cricksoft, and more who will display the latest in technology and communication. UMM faculty and staff will also show their innovative technology projects. A new feature this year will be 20-minute presentations in the exhibit area to allow vendors and teachers to showcase a specific product, innovation, or lesson plan.

Concurrent 50-minute presentation sessions on many instructional technology topics, such as model lessons and curriculum programs, will be scheduled every hour beginning on the hour until 4 p.m. Many business vendors will be presenting, as well as model teachers from our Minnesota schools -- Marlene Schoeneck from Parkers Prairie, Nancy Guldberg from Eden Prairie, and Diane Nelson from Morris Area.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day and refreshments will be available in the exhibit area. Those expected to participate include UMM faculty, staff, and students, teachers from 23 NTNT (New Teachers New Technologies) Grant consortium schools, business vendors from around the nation, and members of the Morris area community.
