Posted by Judy Korn on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010

Chancellelor Jacqueline Johnson attended the American College and University Presidentís Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) 2010 Climate Leadership Summit in Denver, Colorado. ACUPCC signatory institutions serve as role models in addressing global climate disruption and in working toward carbon neutrality.

The Denver conference provided attendees an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments, learn about national security implications of climate disruption, share ways to address key implementation challenges, and discuss the direction of the ACUPCC.

The American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment is a high-visibility effort to address global climate disruption undertaken by a network of colleges and universities that have made institutional commitments to eliminate net greenhouse gas emissions from specified campus operations and to promote the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earthís climate. Its mission is to accelerate progress toward climate neutrality and sustainability by empowering the higher education sector to educate students, create solutions, and provide leadership-by-example for the rest of society.
