Chanteur Kevin Soucie to present acoustic concert of French music

Posted by Judy Korn on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010

Kevin Soucie—singer, songwriter, and guitar-playing chanteur—will perform songs from France at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010, at Common Cup coffeehouse, a nonprofit located at 501 Atlantic Avenue, downtown Morris. Sponsored by the University of Minnesota, Morris student organization Entre Nous and the French Discipline, the event is free and open to the public.

In addition to the acoustic concert, Soucie will be visiting Associate Professor of French Tammy Berberi’s classes to talk about his experiences and to introduce his music. French students from Fergus Falls High School will be attending the concert.

“Kevin is flying in from Washington, D.C., for a second visit after a hiatus of nearly five years,” shares Assistant Professor of French Stephen Martin. “The last time he was here, more than 100 people filled Common Cup for the opportunity to hear his emotion-filled music.”
