Playwright Forrest Musselman to present "Playwriting: how to get into the market"

Join the University of Minnesota, Morris Theatre Discipline as it welcomes playwright Forrest Musselman to campus. Musselman is the author of Sophie and the Adventures of Ice Island, the 2011 spring children’s production directed by Siobhan Bremer, associate professor of theatre.

On Friday, February 25, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Art Black Box Theatre, Musselman and the Theatre Discipline will present a workshop on playwriting. Possible topics covered include: preparing a script for publication, the wonders of the publishing world, marketing a play for a specific audience, and the legal aspects of publication, including contracts and royalty payments.

Musselman’s work has been published through Brooklyn Publishers, Contemporary Drama Service, and Big Dog Publishing. His plays have appeared in nearly every state in the United States, and internationally in Canada, Australia, and Europe. He serves as managing editor for Story People Press. His play publications include Collage, Point Blank, And They All Lived, and The Flecks.
