Morris students to attend The Rally to Restore Affordability

Students across the University of Minnesota work together every year to advocate for legislative funding for Minnesota higher education. But with a projected $6 billion state budget deficit, University students are working even harder during this legislative session to keep tuition affordable. This year, students have renamed the annual “Support the U Day” at the state capitol to “The Rally to Restore Affordability.”
On Tuesday, February 22, 2011, Morris students, along with Twin Cities, Rochester, and Duluth campus students, will travel to St. Paul to speak with their legislators and voice their opinions.
“With state funding continuing to decrease and tuition continuing to rise, University students will remind legislators of just how important the University has been to them,” says Josh Preston ’13, Montevideo, student legislative coordinator.
