Studio art seniors to showcase work

With sculptures, paintings, photography and more, there will be something for everyone to see at the Senior Student Art Exhibition. The exhibition begins Thursday, April 19, 2012 with the opening reception in the Humanities Fine Arts (HFA) Gallery at the University of Minnesota, Morris from 7:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. The exhibition will run until Commencement day, May 12, 2012.
The Senior Student Art Exhibition is the culmination of long and tiring hours worked by the senior art majors and features work in a plethora of media, diverse ranges of subject matter and themes, including chess pieces, rocket ships, paintings ranging from figurative to abstract, and much more. There will be something for everyone to see at the show.
The fourteen senior art students showing their work are Jenessa Arne, Benson—painting and sculpture, Chelsea Bell, Northfield—printmaking and sculpture, Kali Cordes, Glenwood—printmaking and painting, Gabrielle Friends, La Crosse, Wisconsin—painting and sculpture, Peter Grossman, Benson—digital media, Leanne Larson, Garfield—painting and printmaking, Jie Jimmy Li, Beijing, China—painting and sculpture, Sander Moberg, Minneapolis—painting and sculpture, Daniel Nelson, Dayton—sculpture and ceramics, Elise Porcher, Lake Elmo—sculpture and printmaking, Josh Smith, Apple Valley—painting and drawing, Ashley Splonskowski, Madison—painting, Casey Weber, Long Prairie—ceramics and digital media, and Rebecca Wilson, Long Prairie—photography and digital media.
Gallery hours are from Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Convenient parking is located in the North lot. HFA Gallery visitors may park in visitor spaces during weekdays before 4:30 p.m. and throughout the lot after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturday.
