CALL FOR ENTRIES - LOCAL COLOR: Artists from the Lake Region

The Humanities Fine Arts Gallery of the University of Minnesota, Morris announces a call for entries for the exhibit, LOCAL COLOR: Artists from the Lake Region, curated by Michael Eble, curator of the HFA Gallery and associate professor of studio art at Morris. The exhibit will survey artists working in a range of mediums and subject matter residing within the Lake region of West Central Minnesota (Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin counties). The exhibit will be held at the HFA Gallery on the University of Minnesota, Morris campus, January 17 – March 14, 2013.

Open to all artists, photographers, designers, craftspeople and creative’s regardless of age, sex, and occupation are encouraged to submit. There is no entry fee and currently no size, weight, or medium limitations.

The mission of the Humanities Fine Arts Gallery is to provide a dynamic and accessible venue that supports the educational, cultural and artistic experiences of students, faculty, staff and the community. The gallery promotes diverse cultural and personal perspectives in both innovative and traditional art exhibitions linking our community with the global art world.


•Artist can submit 1-5 entries in the form of digital images saved in a JPEG format (.jpg) at 96 pixels per inch (ppi) with no more than 7 inches (or 672 pixels) along the longest dimension of the image. Each file should be labeled with the artist’s last name followed by a period, first initial, underscore, and number, for example: SMITH.J_1.jpg, SMITH.J_2.jpg, etc.

•Image list in Word .doc or .pdf . List containing the following information: name, title of work, media, dimensions (H x W x D in inches), and the date the work was created. This list should correspond to the numerical sequence of images provided.
