Event Date/Time: Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 6:30 pm
Location: Student Center, Alumni Room
On Tuesday, October 30, Morris students are invited to participate in Trick or Can, an ongoing event in which volunteers solicit donations for the Stevens County Food Shelf. Students will gather in the Student Center’s Alumni Room at 6:30 p.m. and hit the streets around 6:45 p.m. These students will be going door-to-door throughout the Morris community, collecting donations of personal hygiene products and non-perishable food items for the Stevens County Food Shelf. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
Since 1991, the Stevens County Food Shelf has been a reliable source of help to the Morris community, providing hygiene products and nonperishable food items to low-income households in the area. The organization is specifically in need of personal hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant as well as nonperishable food items like jello and pudding mixes, crackers, and popcorn.
According to Lu Anne Jaeck of the Stevens County Food Shelf, “this is a great thing, because around this time our shelves start to get empty. Trick or Can helps us very much.”
