Morris will welcome actor Pat O’Brien in Glen Berger’s Underneath the Lintel on Wednesday, February 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Raymond J. Lammers Proscenium Theatre. This event is sponsored by the Theatre Arts Discipline, the Briggs Fund, and the Office of Student Activities.
Underneath the Lintel follows a reclusive librarian as he sets out on a worldwide quest to track down the borrower of a book 123 years overdue. In the process, however, he uncovers a mystery that transcends the ages. O’Brien’s rendition of Underneath the Lintel was voted Best Solo Show at the 2011 Minnesota Fringe and the 2012 London (Ontario) Fringe Theater Festival. The Saint Paul Pioneer Press hails O’Brien’s performance as “‘WOW’-inducing,” and the London Free Press calls it “an award worthy performance.”
O’Brien is a veteran film, television, and stage performer. His most notable film credits include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Catch Me If You Can, Pleasantville, and Stuart Little, and his dozens of television credits include E.R., CSI, Monk, The West Wing, Married with Children, Sabrina, Baywatch, and Saved by the Bell. He has appeared onstage at the Guthrie Theater, the Mixed Blood Theater, and the Chanhassen Dinner Theater of Minnesota as well as the New York Shakespeare Festival, the La Jolla Playhouse, and the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Tickets—$5 for general admission, $2 for students—are available online or by phone at 320-589-6077. For additional information, please email the Theatre Box Office or call 320-589-6249.
