Posted by Maria Fleck ’14, St. Stephen, Office of Community Engagement on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013

Event Date/Time: Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 5:00 pm
Location: Imholte Hall 111

The University of Minnesota, Morris will host its monthly Soup & Substance discussion on Monday, October 14, at 5 p.m. in Imholte Hall 111. Soup & Substance is open to all who wish to share their opinions and experiences. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion and enjoy a free meal.

This month the discussion will focus on bringing about awareness of domestic and sexual violence. Attendees will discuss local reporting rates and barriers to reporting as well as preventative measures to stop violence from happening.

Soup & Substance provides an open forum for members of the campus and community to discuss issues of local, national, and international importance—particularly issues related to privilege and oppression. The event pairs a delicious free meal with a meaningful discussion. This month’s discussion is sponsored by the Morris Feminists, Men of Morris, Stevens County/UMM Violence Prevention Taskforce, and the Office of Community Engagement.
