The 2013–14 Performing Arts Series will conclude with Aquila Theatre Company in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 on Saturday, February 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium. Aquila will bring new life to Bradbury’s visionary parable of a society gone awry.
One of the most revered novels of the twentieth-century, Fahrenheit 451 is an exploration of censorship, technology’s effects on society and literature, and the means by which knowledge is gained. Reprinted dozens of times since its initial publication, Fahrenheit 451 has achieved the rare distinction of being both a literary classic and a perennial bestseller.
Based in New York City since 1999, Aquila has won popular, critical, and academic acclaim worldwide. The company regularly appears at international festivals with performances in places as diverse as Carnegie Hall, the Ancient Stadium at Delphi, the Los Angeles Cathedral Plaza, and the White House.
Tickets are available for purchase online, by phone and mail, or in person at the Office of Student Activities, Conferences, and Special Events. To purchase your tickets today, please visit tickets.umn.edu or call 320-589-6077.
