Greg Cuomo, former head of the University of Minnesota West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris, and Troy Goodnough, sustainability coordinator at the University of Minnesota, Morris, will be Scientists on the Spot during Science Buzz, hosted by the Science Museum of Minnesota. Cuomo will field questions October 20-November 20 about the wind turbine located at the WCROC and Goodnough will field questions November 21-December 21 about the UMM gasification project.
The Science Buzz Web site will post a maximum of five questions per week or a total of 20 questions for each expert to answer regarding their featured topic. As each feature ends, the segment will be archived on the Science Buzz Web site and be available for review, but not for additional questions.
Cuomo will assume a dual appointment in mid-October as director of the Rosemount Research and Outreach Center and operations director of the University of Minnesota Outreach, Research and Education (UMore) Park. He came to WCROC in 1996 from Louisiana State University.
Goodnough was appointed as UMMís first sustainability coordinator to create a campus sustainability plan, assisting faculty and students with research, projects, and curricula promoting green building, landscaping, and recycling policies and serving as a resource to the community and to the region. He holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering and a bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
