Approximately 40 junior high students from Buffalo, Minnesota, learned about renewable energy during a visit November 17 to the University of Minnesota, Morris. Campus sustainability coordinator Troy Goodnough demonstrated how long it takes a peanut to burn and inflated a hydrogen balloon among other experiments shared in a UMM science laboratory. Following their visit to UMM, the students explored the wind turbine that is located on the site of the West Central Research and Outreach Center near the Morris campus.
