UMM to exhibit at Living Green Expo

Those who visit the sixth annual Living Green Expo will find that it’s easier than they think to lead a healthier and Mother Nature-approved life.
The University of Minnesota, Morris will be an exhibitor at the Expo on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The Expo is Minnesota’s largest environmental event.
UMM’s exhibit will showcase its Green Campus initiatives including the wind turbine, the biomass gasification facility, service learning initiatives and the Pride of the Prairie Local Foods Initiative.
This two-day event will feature more than 200 exhibitors from across the region, which will provide information, ideas, resources, products and motivation to live more sustainably. The Expo highlights nine areas for people to explore: arts and culture, buildings, energy, food and agriculture, household products and practices, lifestyles and recreation, sustainability education, transportation and yard and garden.
The Living Green Expo will also have more than 50 free workshops, Workshops on a variety of sustainability and “living green” topics.
Learn from the experts in more than 50 workshops on everything from how to compost and reduce toxicity in your home to using the latest energy-saving technology and cooking with organic, locally grown food. This family-friendly event features art displays, activities for kids, an exciting music lineup, and the best in local and organic foods.
Admission and parking is free, secure bike storage is available and the Expo is accessible by bus.
